MY APPROACH

I am creative, scientific, and analytical. I am passionate about making products that taste good and work. With 40 years of experience in the food and beverage manufacturing, I have seen many things go wrong. I can proactively identify risks/challenges that can be very expensive, damaging to your brand, and make you lose sleep.

No project is too small or too big. I have a wealth of world-class experience and can navigate the complexities involved in the development and commercialization of any consumer packaged goods. I love a challenge!

I worked with some of the biggest consumer goods conglomerates like Mondelez (formerly Kraft), large retailers like Whole Foods, and every size brand in between. Some partnerships have spanned over 20 years and over 50 SKUs!

Product Development is part art and part science. I can help you navigate the process of product design, prototyping, and execution.

 

WORKING WITH PURPOSE

Gu means darkness or obscure, turbid, heavy, dull, foggy, muddled, and confused. Ru by contrast means light or awakened, clear, vital, and energized. A Guru, therefore, has the know-how and ability to uncover what is hidden or unknown and bring it to life.

In addition to my passion for food science, I’ve spent the last 40 years in culinary arts and the scholarly study and practice of Ayurvedic, Classical Chinese, and Naturopathic Medicine. I believe the foods we eat should be delightful and flavorful while also contributing to our basic quality of life.
